Title: There's Something About ...
Author: [personal profile] katmarajade
Rating: PG
Pairing(s): Hannah Abbott/Pansy Parkinson
Summary: When Hannah first made the promise, she had no idea it would entail masquerading as her own brother, helping to save a fundraiser from disaster, and falling in love with a rather prickly princess who thought Hannah was someone else.
Warnings: cross dressing, slight AU (Hannah has a twin brother)
Word Count: 3700
Author's Notes: This was written for [personal profile] capeofstorm at this year's [community profile] femmefest. My first full-length foray into femme ended up being a lot of fun, a little bit crazy, and a whole lot of wacky, silly, situational comedy. So right up my alley! Inspired by prompts of cross dressing and secrets. Plot loosely based on Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. Many thanks to [personal profile] aigooism, [personal profile] songquake, & [personal profile] tree00faery, my fabulous betas. All remaining errors are my own.

Our story begins, as most stories do, with a misunderstanding. In this case, quite a lot of misunderstandings with a few wild misconceptions tossed in for good measure. )

Title: That All Too Familiar Smile
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 1100
Pairing(s): Lee Jordan/Lily Luna Potter
Warnings: cross gen (47/18), a very foul-mouthed Lee, a lot of innuendo
Disclaimer: All Harry Potter characters herein are the property of J.K. Rowling and Bloomsbury/Scholastic. No copyright infringement is intended.
Summary: Nightclub owner Lee Jordan thought he was over the young, fresh-faced, straight-out-of-Hogwarts type, but when she walks in he can't help himself. There's something all too familiar about her ...
Author's Notes: Written for [community profile] hp_nextgen_fest. Many thanks to my brilliant beta, [personal profile] aigooism!

So he's more than a little surprised to find himself watching the new girl. There's just something about her ... something familiar )

Title: Kissing Seamus
Author: [livejournal.com profile] katmarajade
Written for: [livejournal.com profile] besamislabios
Pairing: Dean/Seamus
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 695
Prompt: tinsel
Summary: After a long day at work, Dean comes home to find Seamus has taken decking the halls to a whole new level.
Notes: I saved this one for last, because it's Dean/Seamus (one of my dearest pairings), has lots of kissing, and is full of Christmas joy. Merry Christmas, lovely [livejournal.com profile] besamislabios!

Dean stared at their sitting room in shock. When he'd left for work that morning, there had been nothing but their threadbare green sofa and a few empty beer cans. )

This officially concludes the holiday drabbly bits of 2011. I hope you enjoyed them. Until next year, darlings!

Title: An Act of Rebellion: Eight Nights of Hope
Author: [livejournal.com profile] katmarajade
Written for: [livejournal.com profile] tree00faery
Characters: Anthony Goldstein and a cast of fellow Ravenclaws
Rating: PG
Word Count: 909
Prompt: someone trying to sneak Hanukkah candles past the Carrows during DH.
Summary: During the Carrows' reign of terror, Anthony decides to bring his House together in a surprising way.
Notes: In 1997 the first night of Hanukkah actually fell on Christmas Eve, so I took the liberty of using the 1996 dates so that the festival fell during a time in which all these kids would still be at Hogwarts to celebrate it. And I went with the "Hanukkah" spelling, though I recognize there are several legitimate transliterations.

It's not about Hanukkah, but it is, in a way, about faith. It's about hope. It's about needing something to believe in when the world gets dark and you find yourself losing your way. It's about light and miracles. It's a timely message.  )

Title: Someone To Help Ring In the New Year
Author: [livejournal.com profile] katmarajade
Written for: [livejournal.com profile] bendleshnitz1
Pairing: Percy/Lavender
Rating: R (Perhaps PG-13, but Lavender somehow makes everything seem sexier than hell)
Word Count: 974
Prompt: Bless you for prompting this awesome pairing, bb! Too much fun.
Summary: Lavender Brown knows what she wants. She knows how to read the cards. She's going to find him tonight.

It wasn't like she was expecting Prince William or anything, but she had standards. He needed to be tall, handsome, and brilliant. Most importantly though, he needed to think she was the most incredible woman ever to grace the planet. That wasn't so much to ask, was it? )

Title: Holding On To Tradition
Author: [livejournal.com profile] katmarajade
Written for: [livejournal.com profile] eloquent_toast
Pairing: George/Luna
Rating: PG
Word Count: 1082
Prompt: George being too devastated to go to boxing day or something and Luna just appearing at his flat above WWW and comforting him in her quietly eccentric but empathetic way.
Summary: It's not Christmas but Boxing Day that hits him hardest.
Notes: I've taken a few possible liberties with Boxing Day and May Day traditions …

It's Boxing Day. It's Boxing Day and George is not at the Burrow. )

Title: A New Tradition: A Tale of Two Families
Author: [livejournal.com profile] katmarajade
Written for: [livejournal.com profile] songquake
Pairing: Dudley/Draco
Rating: PG
Word Count: 1214
Prompt: family tradition
Summary: Dudley and Draco visit their families for the holidays. It's hard to say which dinner is more awkward. Perhaps it's time for a new tradition.
Notes: I had such fun with these two. And the parents—hoo boy! :-D Thanks for such a fun prompt. It was great to get a chance to write Dudley again, having had to pass on Dudley Redeemed this round. I hope you enjoy it.

When Draco Malfoy met Dudley Dursley, he never imagined that the two of them would become friends, much less anything else.  )

Pairing: Oliver/Cho
Rating: PG-13

Title: Evergreen Entrapment
Author: [livejournal.com profile] katmarajade
Written for: [livejournal.com profile] coffee_n_cocoa
Pairing: Neville/Ginny
Rating: R
Word Count: 589
Prompt: evergreen wreaths
Summary: Ginny truly thought she was helping, using a few charms to expedite the process, get the orders finished, and possibly get her husband home early for Christmas Eve. Unfortunately, the magical fir trees did not take kindly to charms, no matter how well-intentioned.

That was how Neville and Ginny Longbottom found themselves stranded inside their own greenhouse, surrounded by a thick, unyielding (though nice-smelling) wall of evergreen on Christmas Eve. )

Pairing: Zacharias/Millicent
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 639
Prompt: scent of a woman
Summary: In the early morning light Zacharias wonders at his wife's unique beauty.
Notes: Wow, I was in such a sappy mood when I wrote this! Have some sappy!adoring!Zach!

Zacharias wakes up slowly and leisurely, feeling the warmth of curtain-filtered sunshine and the tingling that indicates he's lost sensation in his arm. This is his favorite time of day. )

Written for: [livejournal.com profile] secret_weapon
Pairing: Padma/OMC, also mentions canon Yule Ball dates and Parvati/OMC
Rating: PG

Prompt: Padma/Beauxbatons boy at Yule Ball
Summary: Fed up with her terrible Yule Ball date, Padma finds a new dance partner.

That was the thing about balls. They had a tendency to surprise you. )

Title: The Festive Smell of Smoke in the Kitchen
Author: [livejournal.com profile] katmarajade
Written for: [livejournal.com profile] ragdoll
Pairing: Bill/Tonks
Rating: R
Word Count: 620
Prompt: flaming pudding
Summary: There is an unspoken house rule that Tonks is not to play with fire, but in the spirit of Christmas she's willing to overlook that.
Notes: My first time writing either of these two characters, and I had a blast! I hope I did your OTP justice.

The smell of smoke was his first clue. The loud burst of colorful swearing was his second.  )

Holiday Drabbly Bits are here! I hope so much that you enjoy them all! There are 19 this year. I'll try to post daily and will post a reply comment to your original prompt to notify you.

Fun statistics! )

And for our first drabbly bit of the year, I give you:

Title: Finding Crookshanks
Author: [livejournal.com profile] katmarajade
Written for: [livejournal.com profile] wwmrsweasleydo
Pairing: Ron/Harry (more bromance actually, but you can easily view through slashy-colored lenses)
Rating: PG
Word Count: 926
Prompt: the scene: gray skies, rain, dead leaves, not too hot, not too cold
Summary: He's lost so much of his family. He's lost Harry. He's lost Hermione. Crookshanks is the only one who's stayed the same, just as ugly and crochety as before. Ron can't lose him too.
Notes: This is not really at all what you prompted, but I hope you enjoy it anyway. It was inspired by my desperate desire to find my own missing cat, so I had to give it a happy ending and bump it to the front of the queue. This was a pairing I specifically said I wouldn't write, and yet ??? I don't have the faintest idea how Harry wandered in and killed my rare pair only rule with a single look. That's Harry f*%#ing Potter for you. *shakes head in confused wonder*

It's raining and he's outside looking for a cat that he doesn't even really like. )

Title: Numb
Author: [livejournal.com profile] katmarajade
Written For: [livejournal.com profile] purelush

Pairing: Dean Thomas/Katie Bell, (mentions of Dean/Ginny and Harry/Ginny)
Word Count: 969
Summary: Dean's looking for peace, quiet, and numbness. Katie understands all too well but has a different way of dealing.
Notes: Written for [livejournal.com profile] purelush who came in at the tail end of my holiday drabbly bitting last year. I meant to write this sooooo much sooner, but I got distracted with the move and totally forgot. I'm so sorry, darling! I hope that you enjoy this only slightly belated birthday drabbly bit. *shifty eyes* Happy ... Saturday?

Ginny Weasley had dumped him, thrown him over for the sodding Chosen One ... )

Title: It Started With a Wronski Feint
Creator: [livejournal.com profile] katmarajade
Rating: PG
Pairing/characters: Viktor Krum/Teddy Lupin
Warnings/content: Grouchy, taciturn Bulgarians? Ridiculously colorful clothing? Teeth-rottingly sugary coffee drinks? Are these warnings?
Medium or word count: 3000
Summary: It started with a Wronski Feint. Everything always did in Viktor Krum's world.
Notes: Written for [livejournal.com profile] teddy_fest 2011. Many thanks to our beautiful and insanely patient mod for not sending killer bunnies after me and for running this fest so well. And heaps of thanks to my wonderful betas, [livejournal.com profile] aigooism and [livejournal.com profile] tree00faery!

Title: How To Save a Life
Author [livejournal.com profile] katmarajade
Character(s): Percy Weasley, Penelope Clearwater
Rating: PG
Wordcount: 9300
Warnings (if any): mildly angsty peril and a fair bit of wackiness
Summary: When George contracts a terrible wizarding illness, Percy vows to do whatever it takes to save his life. He runs into an old friend, and together they travel clear across the world, encountering obstacles both dangerous and ridiculous along the way, to bring home a cure.
Author's/Artist’s Notes (if any): Written for [livejournal.com profile] springtime_gen. I had so much fun with Percy throughout this—there's just so much more to him than people seem to think! The prompt of treasure hunting got me started and just snowballed from there. Thank you to my glorious betas, [livejournal.com profile] aigooism (who has an eye for finding all of my typos) and [livejournal.com profile] tree00faery (who never lets me get away with anything)
